Mrs. Loes de Kruijff, MD
In 2005 Loes de Kruijff worked as a general practitioner in the Military Rehabilitation Center Aardenburg (MRC) in Doorn. Working with highly motivated patients enhanced her love for the job as well as for the military patient population. She did her physical medicine and rehabilitation residency training in rehabilitation center De Hoogstraat in Utrecht from 2006-2010. She did a fellowship in orthopedy surgery in the Central Military Hospital, where she met colonel Van der Krans. They connected well because of their mutual drive to improve aftercare for wounded warriors. She combined the fellowship with a research project in the MRC. After the fellowship, she started working as a physiatrist in De Hoogstraat.
She has got the best of both worlds. In De Hoogstraat she treats patients after major trauma, patients with spinal cord injury and amputees. In the MRC she almost finishes her PhD.
